Officials from MPEDA are miffed at not being invited to the seafood festival

If accepted, we would have set up kiosks with live fish, prepared a variety of recipes, and provided a demonstration on the value of eating seafood, according to an official

The Seafood Festival, which is being staged by the State government, has disappointed representatives of the Marine Products Export Development Authority (MPEDA).

The second Seafood Festival was here at the A Convention Centre by the Fisheries Department and Bhoomi Organics, the event’s knowledge partner.

The celebration, which started on July 28, went on through July 31. Participants included aqua farmers, stakeholders, and representatives of several organizations of prawn and fish farmers.

The festival’s opening speaker, Fisheries Minister Seediri Appala Raju, said that Andhra Pradesh led the nation in seafood exports with 50 lakh tons.

The booths were set up by the Fisheries Department. The fish and prawn enthusiasts who flocked to the festival were treated to an endless seafood buffet.

“We set up a booth at the inaugural Seafood Festival and informed the attendees about the protein content of prawns, salmon, crab, and squid. A. Jeya Bal, Regional Joint Director for MPEDA, stated that this year we have not gotten any invitations.

No department was invited, according to M. Raghuram, managing director of Bhoomi Organics.

“With 974 km of coastline, A.P. leads the world in seafood exports to the United States, China, Thailand, the European Union, and several other nations. In addition to providing a demonstration on the value of eating seafood, we would have set up stalls with live fish and prepared a variety of dishes, according to Mr. Jeya Bal.
