PepsiCo India Revamps Packaging to Highlight ‘No Artificial Flavours or Colours’

PepsiCo India has announced a packaging overhaul across its snack portfolio, introducing prominent “No Artificial Flavours or Colours” labels on products such as Lay’s, Kurkure and Doritos.

The initiative aims to provide consumers with clearer ingredient information and support informed purchasing decisions amid growing demand for transparency in food labeling.

According to the company, the packaging update does not involve any changes to existing recipes, taste or product quality. The labels are intended to make consumers more aware that the products are already made without artificial colours and flavours.

PepsiCo India said the move reflects its science-led approach to product development, ingredient selection and quality standards. The company added that increasing visibility of ingredient information aligns with evolving consumer expectations around transparency and trust.

Saakshi Verma Menon, Chief Marketing Officer of PepsiCo India, said the company is focused on helping consumers better understand the ingredients in the products they purchase. She noted that the new packaging is designed to make ingredient information more accessible and easier to recognize at the point of sale.

The announcement comes as PepsiCo expands its presence in India. Earlier this month, the company revealed plans to invest up to ₹5,700 crore in the country by 2030, with a major focus on increasing food manufacturing capacity.

The packaging update is part of PepsiCo India’s broader strategy to strengthen consumer trust while supporting growth in one of its key global markets.
