PepsiCo India’s Massive Investment: Rs. 1,266 Crore Flavour Mfrg Facility to be Set Up in MP

PepsiCo India has announced a huge investment of Rs 1,266 crore for the establishment of a flavour manufacturing facility in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, aiming to bolster its beverage production capacity. Scheduled to commence operations by early 2026, the plant is poised to significantly contribute to job creation and economic growth in the region. Notably, the facility will operate on renewable energy sources, marking a substantial reduction in carbon emissions, while also prioritizing water efficiency through innovative zero liquid discharge technology.

In a recent statement, PepsiCo India revealed its ambitious plan to fortify its presence in India’s beverage market with the construction of a state-of-the-art flavour manufacturing facility in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. Spanning across 22 acres, this facility is expected to play a pivotal role in amplifying PepsiCo’s beverage production capabilities nationwide, fostering employment opportunities, and positively impacting the local economy.

Construction of the facility is slated to commence in 2024, with operations projected to commence in the first quarter of 2026. The company expressed gratitude for the support received from the Madhya Pradesh government, underscoring its commitment to driving socio-economic development in the region.

According to Jagrut Kotecha, CEO of PepsiCo India & South Asia, the strategic collaboration with the Madhya Pradesh government aims to bolster the company’s market presence while fostering significant socio-economic progress in the region.

George Kovoor, Senior Vice President of Beverages at PepsiCo India, emphasized the strategic significance of the new manufacturing unit, which will be the company’s second flavour manufacturing facility in India. Kovoor highlighted PepsiCo’s commitment to meeting the escalating demand for its beverages while upholding the highest quality standards and promoting sustainable practices across its operations.

A notable point is PepsiCo India’s dedication to environmental sustainability, with the upcoming facility expected to operate entirely on renewable energy sources, resulting in a substantial reduction in carbon emissions. Additionally, the implementation of zero liquid discharge technology underscores the company’s commitment to water conservation, aiming for approximately 90% overall water efficiency and replenishing 100% of the water utilized at the facility.
