Russian mineral water producer Akva-Kristall is expanding its export business to India, with its ICE MOUNTAIN natural mineral water positioned for the Indian market.
Based in Nalchik in Russia’s Kabardino-Balkaria region, Akva-Kristall has been producing mineral drinking water since 2006. The company sources its water from a 230-metre-deep well drawing from a protected aquifer in the foothills of the Caucasus.
The company said the source is protected from seasonal rainfall and surface contamination. The water is bottled at the source to preserve its natural mineral composition. It undergoes multi-stage filtration to remove clay and sand while retaining its minerals and original taste, with laboratory testing conducted throughout production.
Akva-Kristall produces natural mineral water in both glass and PET packaging. Glass packaging is aimed at the premium segment, while PET formats are suited to long-distance transportation. The company is targeting retail chains, the hospitality sector and import partners as it develops its presence in India.
The company’s mineral water is also distinguished by its patented bottle design, which incorporates Caucasus-inspired elements with a focus on modern ergonomics. The packaging is intended to strengthen the product’s identity in the retail market.
Akva-Kristall has received several awards and certifications for its products, including the ‘100 Best Goods of Russia’ certification and the ‘Made in Russia’ mark. Its products are already exported to markets including the United States, Canada, Azerbaijan, Moldova and other CIS countries.
The company’s entry into India marks a new phase in its international expansion. Akva-Kristall is looking to establish long-term commercial relationships with Indian importers and expand the availability of Caucasus-sourced mineral water in the Indian market.
