Skyway Enters RTD Nutrition Market with Protein Milkshake Sweetened by Monk Fruit and Ashwagandha

In a move reflecting the growing demand for functional and clean-label nutrition in India, Skyway has launched Cloud Shake, a ready-to-drink protein milkshake positioned as the country’s first to be sweetened with monk fruit and formulated with KSM-66 Ashwagandha. With this launch, the company has formally entered the fast-expanding RTD nutrition segment, which is witnessing rising demand from fitness-focused and health-conscious consumers.

The newly introduced beverage delivers 26 grams of complete protein per serving, placing it among the highest-protein ready-to-drink shakes currently available in the Indian market. Unlike many conventional protein drinks that depend on artificial sweeteners or sugar alcohols, Cloud Shake uses monk fruit, a plant-based sweetener known for providing sweetness without added sugar or calories.

According to the company, the formulation has been designed to combine performance nutrition with everyday convenience. In addition to high protein content, the milkshake includes prebiotic fibre for digestive health, Omega-3 fatty acids for inflammation management, and KSM-66 Ashwagandha, a clinically studied adaptogen associated with stress balance and overall wellness.

To enhance micronutrient value, the drink also contains a blend of greens including spinach, moringa, and wheatgrass. Skyway said the challenge was to add functional ingredients without affecting taste or texture, a common concern in the ready-to-drink nutrition category.

The product has been developed keeping in mind India’s persistent protein deficiency as well as the growing incidence of lifestyle-related health issues. The company stated that Cloud Shake is intended for multiple consumption occasions, including breakfast on the go, post-workout recovery, mid-day snacking, and as a healthier dessert alternative.

At launch, the milkshake is available in Choco Hazel and Banana Berry flavours, with additional variants such as coffee, vanilla, and matcha expected to be introduced in the coming months as the brand expands its portfolio.

Skyway emphasised that the product contains no artificial sweeteners, added colours, flavours, dates, or fruit concentrates often used in the category to enhance sweetness. The company said the focus is on building science-led, clean-label products that align with evolving consumer preferences for foods that deliver both indulgence and measurable health benefits.

With the introduction of Cloud Shake, Skyway is aiming to establish a presence in the functional nutrition space, a segment that is rapidly gaining traction in India as consumers look for convenient formats that combine taste, nutrition, and wellness in a single product.
