Ice Cream Show – IICE 2022
The only event in South Asia on ice cream
Events are no easy task to perform. It’s a dedicated hard work taking entirely a year to organized yet another same event of that scale.
Events create opportunities for people to connect with an area, spend time together, celebrate and experience the diversity of cultures and foster creativity and innovation. They allow a community to come alive and provide an opportunity for a destination to showcase its industrial experience and increase economic activity.
Events contribute significantly to community building, lifestyle and leisure enhancement, cultural development, tourism promotion and increased visitation, volunteer participation, fundraising and upward development. Most importantly, events create a sense of fun and vibrancy, resulting in a strong sense of community connectivity, and this is precisely what AIM Events tries every year to bring the ice cream community under one parasol so that all become familiar with all.
This year October was our 10th edition of South Asia’s only ice cream show ‘Indian Ice Cream Congress & Expo’ (IICE) that made a grand come back at HITEX, Hyderabad on 10th October 2022 after two hiatus years.
With lots of thrill and excitement, the team of AIM Events left for Hyderabad from Mumbai to conduct the three-day show commenced from 10th to 12th October 2022.
The day dawned to new hopes and intentions. Coming to the show were 7500 visitors, some old players and some start-up entrepreneurs, some to see new tech machines and some to find new and better ingredients for the ice cream.
On 10th Oct, at 11:30am the event welcomed the Hon’ble Chief Guest Smt. Anita Praveen, IAS Officer, and Special Secretary of Ministry of Food Processing Industry of India (MoFPI), GoI, together with the eminent exhibitors present at the exhibition, inaugurated the three-day event co-organized by IICMA & AIM Events with Rockwell Industries Ltd as its Title Partner.
Along with Rockwell Industries, there were renowned partners like Kap Group (Platinum Partner), Bola’s, Micks Foods, and Morde as its Gold Partner and Celsius as its Cold Chain Partner received around 150 exhibitors and over 1000 ice manufacturers and players of allied industry and 7500+ visitors from all over the country and various parts of the world.
Rajesh Gandhi Chairman-Vadilal Industries and Non-executive Chairman at Indian Ice Cream Manufacturer’s Association (IICMA) addressing the audience said that IICE is the most significant platform for all ice cream companies who are willing to modernize their business or looking for better technologies, trends and ideas.
He further said that flavours keep changing according to the seasonal appetite but not the culture of ice cream making. These variant flavours make ice creams the most favourite sweet treat amongst our consumers with age no bar.
Sudhir Shah, MD of Scoops Ice Cream and President of IICMA informed the audience that Indian ice cream industry is one of the fastest growing segments of the dairy or food processing industry. “From Rs 9000 crore in 2016, the ice-cream category has jumped to Rs 12,000 crore in 2018. Ice cream industry is growing at a rate of 15-20% year-on-year. India has a low per capita ice cream consumption of ice cream at 450 ml as compared with per capita consumption of ice cream of 22L in the United States and 3,000 ml in China. With the improving cold chain infrastructure in the country coupled with increasing disposable income and the changing lifestyle, the sector has great potential for growth.
“Leading companies dealing in refrigeration industry have showed their interest in the event. This year, many cold chain companies participated in the event. Foreign companies have shown keen interest in our show benefiting domestic industry as we are now getting the advanced technology from them. I hope that upcoming show will be the World No.1 event in terms of ice cream”, said Firoz H. Naqvi, Director, AIM Events, the organizer of the show. “Our AIM Events media crew was there on the exhibition floor to record the thoughts and opinions of the exhibitors and delegates present. The collection of the feedback ensemble is presented before you and the video of the same can be viewed on YouTube from our website www.indianicecreamcongress.in
