Wells Enterprises has announced the nationwide launch of Nutella Ice Cream in the United States, marking the first time the globally popular hazelnut-cocoa spread has been introduced in a dedicated ice cream format made with real Nutella.
The new product, developed in partnership with Ferrero North America, will be available in 14-fluid-ounce tubs as well as cone formats. The company said the ice cream features creamy Nutella layers and swirls throughout, designed to deliver the signature taste of the iconic spread.
The launch reflects the growing trend among global confectionery brands to expand into frozen desserts as premium indulgence categories continue to gain momentum in the ice cream sector.
Noah Szporn, senior vice president of Nutella at Ferrero North America, described the launch as a milestone for the brand, which has built a strong consumer following over the past six decades.
He said Nutella has remained a beloved household brand for more than 60 years and that bringing it into the frozen dessert category represents a highly anticipated move for consumers.
Isabella Chia, chief marketing officer at Wells Enterprises, said the company focused on preserving the authentic Nutella flavour profile while adapting it into an ice cream format.
Industry analysts note that collaborations between confectionery and ice cream companies have accelerated globally as consumers increasingly seek familiar flavours in premium frozen dessert offerings. Brands are also leveraging strong brand equity to drive innovation across adjacent categories such as frozen snacks, dairy desserts and impulse treats.
The launch further strengthens Wells Enterprises’ position in the premium ice cream segment. The company, known for brands such as Blue Bunny and Halo Top, has been expanding its product portfolio amid rising consumer demand for indulgent and experiential frozen desserts.
Nutella, owned by Ferrero, remains one of the world’s most recognised sweet spread brands and has steadily expanded beyond breakfast applications into bakery, desserts and foodservice categories globally.
