Bonn Group Launches Desi-Flavoured Breads, Bets on Chai-Time Snacking Boom

In a bid to reinvent everyday bread consumption, Bonn Group has launched a new range of flavoured breads, introducing Indian taste profiles into a traditionally plain category.

The new lineup includes Lehsuni Tadka Bread, Missi Bread, and Digestive Ajwain Jeera Bread—products designed to bring a “desi twist” to the bread segment while tapping into India’s strong chai-time snacking culture. With this move, the company aims to reposition bread from a basic staple to a flavour-led, experiential product.

The range is being rolled out exclusively on Blinkit initially, reflecting the growing importance of quick commerce platforms in driving product discovery and trial among urban consumers.

According to the company, the launch is part of a broader strategy to expand bread consumption into new occasions, particularly by bridging the gap between bread and traditional roti-based eating habits. By incorporating familiar Indian flavours, Bonn is targeting consumers seeking both convenience and culturally resonant taste experiences.

Amrinder Singh, Director at Bonn Group, said the company is focusing on innovation-led growth within the bakery category. He noted that introducing regional flavours in a modern format could drive experimentation and unlock new consumption segments.

The products will also be made available across key retail markets, supported by quick commerce partnerships to ensure accessibility and faster reach. The company is leveraging emerging consumption trends where convenience, novelty, and flavour innovation intersect.

With a strong presence in North India, Bonn Group continues to expand its footprint in the packaged bakery segment, positioning itself at the forefront of product innovation in a traditionally commoditized category.
