McCain Foods India Names Aditya Krishna as Managing Director

McCain Foods India has appointed Aditya Krishna as managing director, succeeding Mainak Dhar, who will take up a new leadership role within the company, as the frozen food major reshuffles its commercial leadership to strengthen its growth strategy in India.

In his new role, Krishna will oversee McCain Foods India’s overall business, including its partnerships with potato growers and the company’s efforts to develop French Fries potato varieties suited to Indian growing conditions.

Commenting on his appointment, Krishna said the role was an opportunity to build on McCain’s longstanding presence in India, including its work with growers, contribution to the country’s food processing industry and community initiatives such as Project Shakti and Project Utthaan.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to build on this strong foundation, and equally excited about the road ahead as we continue to grow the category, strengthen the McCain brand, and create long-term value for our growers, customers, consumers, and communities,” he said.

As part of the leadership transition, Avishek Kar has been elevated to commercial head, McCain Foods India, succeeding Krishna in the position.

Kar has held multiple roles across McCain’s India operations and brings experience in the company’s commercial functions.

The leadership changes come as McCain continues to expand its presence in India’s growing frozen and processed food market, while working closely with local growers and investing in products tailored to Indian consumption and agricultural conditions.
