Milky Mist Adds 150-Tonne Daily Capacity for Skyr and Greek Yoghurt

Milky Mist Dairy Food has commissioned a new Skyr and Greek yoghurt manufacturing facility at its integrated dairy plant in Perundurai, Tamil Nadu, strengthening its presence in the growing high-protein dairy segment.

The company has invested around ₹40 crore in the new facility, which has a processing capacity of up to 150 tonnes per day.

The expansion comes as consumer interest in protein-rich and premium dairy products continues to increase in India. Skyr and Greek yoghurt, known for their thick texture and higher protein content compared with conventional yoghurt, are gradually gaining space in the health and wellness category.

The new facility will enable Milky Mist to increase production of cultured dairy products and cater to rising demand across retail and other distribution channels.

The investment also reflects the company’s wider focus on value-added dairy products rather than conventional liquid milk. Milky Mist has built its portfolio across categories such as curd, paneer, cheese, butter, yoghurt and other dairy products.

With the new capacity, the company is positioning itself to capture a larger share of India’s expanding premium and protein-focused dairy market.
