BL Agro has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) to establish a large-scale integrated Agro-processing hub in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, with an investment of ₹1,660 crore over the next five years.
The facility will include a fully automated rice milling unit, a 500 TPD edible oil extraction and refining plant under the company’s Bail Kolhu and Nourish brands, advanced packaging lines, sugar storage and sourcing solutions, and 40,000 MT of grain storage capacity.
Construction is scheduled to begin within six months, with Phase I expected to be completed by 2027. The project is expected to create over 3,500 direct and indirect jobs, boosting the regional economy while strengthening India’s food processing infrastructure.
“We will be integrating circular economy practices into our operations—such as utilizing by-products in cattle feed and renewable energy systems. This will set new benchmarks in sustainable food processing,” said Ashish Khandelwal, Managing Director, BL Agro Industries.
As part of the agreement, MoFPI will provide facilitation support for statutory clearances and approvals to ensure the timely execution of the project.
