Family Values:
Many businesses have flourished when the next generation joins the earlier one. When a business is inherited by the next-gen and passed on the proceeding ones, the certainty gets multiplied of success & growth. The newer generation always adds on more to the preceding one with better innovation and fats technology. There are few basic rules in all the businesses, we to have of our own and that is ethics, modesty and quality assurance. To sustain the business for coming generation and the next, these family values have to be kept alive by passing on to the new joiners.
The role of Family Members:
Everyone born into a family has a different caliber and traits. In our business, we first let a new member to settle in, then judge what suits his capability and position him accordingly. If someone is good at accounting, he is placed in accounts, if he possess skills and talent in production then he is trained with perfection and he can handle production. If anyone is good in PR, we let him/her in PR… Same goes for sales &marketing and other responsibilities. With family-run business, we have to find the skills within the family.
The Changing Perception of Young Generation
Traditionally speaking, this business was perceived as stereotyped “Halwais’ (professionally). Since few decades, this profession has become more polished and classy that ‘Halwais’ have gained a lot of respect and popularity throughout the industry. We find every other person wants to manufacturer something related to the industry and hold up a position there.
Young people’s enthusiasm is on pick.See the list…Anand sweets, Khavda itself, Chitale & list goes on and on.Youth is involved in this industry like never before. With foreign education, they are technos, they have a vision that can change the whole perception of the mithai and namkeen industry. Thisis the best time we have ever seen.
The Role of Modern Technology & Automation
Modern tech & Automation is something we always need to accept to upgrade in our own field. Human hands have limitations…production-wise, finishing-wise. Human hands tire but automation has advantage over tiredness. Automation makes wonders in mass production and packaging with end results in total perfection and contactless as added feature in covid times. We always look forward to update our machineries in every possible way. At the same time,we try to make balance between automation and workers who are wholly dependent on us.Thus, we have both of the approach…modern as well as ethical…
Lockdown Consequences
Lockdown consequences are many. There was a pause-like situation during lockdown and that gave us a time to think. This aided our energy to get charged and speed up to do things in better way.
Undoubtedly, lockdown has surely affected all of us….But there is no point in cribbing or regretting. We got a chance to think with a new dimension. During lockdown, we could utilize the time by checking our decisions and activities which we couldn’t normally have done. There were certain major decisions that brought us together on a unique platform through FSNM. We became member of the federation, which we weren’t earlier…
Lockdown taught us so many things and we learnt that the thing we are concerned the most about…
• We are not in full throttled function…We are recovering for the sake of routine….Corporates are on decline…
• We are on recovery mode…So, we are just getting the pace…Nothing special in this particular year except optimism…
