LPG Shortage Hits Jubilant FoodWorks Operations, Some Stores Face Disruptions

Jubilant FoodWorks Ltd, the operator of Domino’s Pizza and Dunkin’ Donuts in India, has reported supply constraints of LPG cylinders across parts of its store network due to the ongoing West Asia conflict.

In a regulatory filing, the company said the operational impact remains limited for now and is being actively managed. It is taking measures to conserve LPG usage while accelerating a shift towards alternative energy sources such as electricity and piped natural gas (PNG).

Jubilant FoodWorks added that it is in continuous engagement with oil marketing companies to track supply developments and adapt operations in response to the evolving situation.

The broader restaurant industry is also facing pressure from LPG shortages, with several outlets temporarily shutting down or scaling back operations. Earlier this month, the National Restaurant Association of India had advised its members to reduce cooking times, optimise fuel usage, and consider shorter operating hours to manage the disruption.

The supply crunch, linked to geopolitical tensions in West Asia, has emerged as a key operational challenge for food service players reliant on LPG for daily operations.
