Pizza Hut to focus on capturing the attention of the country’s youthful demographic

Pizza Hut, the renowned American multinational pizza restaurant chain, is making significant strides in India, with a particular focus on capturing the attention of the country’s youthful demographic. Merrill Pereyra, the Managing Director of Pizza Hut Indian Subcontinent, highlighted the company’s ambitious expansion plans, noting that they have opened more restaurants in the past two years than in the previous two decades. Currently, Pizza Hut operates over 850 restaurants across India, with over 300 of them tailored as Fast Casual Delco (FCD) outlets, catering to the fast-paced lifestyles of modern consumers.

Pereyra emphasized the importance of staying relevant to their diverse consumer base by continuously expanding their menu offerings. Acknowledging India’s price-sensitive market and varied preferences, Pizza Hut is strategically focusing on providing value offerings that resonate with Indian tastes.

The company’s commitment to innovation is evident in its FCD outlets, which seamlessly integrate dine-in, delivery, and takeaway services, utilizing cutting-edge technology such as Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) ordering. The transparent open-kitchen design further enhances customer trust by showcasing the food preparation process.

In a move to further enhance their value offerings, Pizza Hut recently introduced a new product category in the Indian market called Melts. Pereyra expressed confidence in Melts’ potential success, citing its popularity among consumers worldwide.

With Pizza Hut’s relentless focus on catering to the evolving needs of Indian consumers, coupled with its commitment to providing value and innovation, the brand is poised to strengthen its presence and appeal to the vibrant Indian market.
