Swiggy has introduced a dedicated food safety helpline and a new in-app reporting option to make it easier for customers to raise concerns about food ordered through its platform.
Customers can report food safety issues by calling 7948231850 or selecting the ‘Food Safety’ option in the Help section of the Swiggy app. Through the app, customers can briefly explain the problem and upload photographs related to their complaint.
After a complaint is registered, customers will receive a ticket number to track its progress. Those using the helpline will receive a link on their registered mobile number where they can provide additional information and photographs.
Swiggy said its Food Safety Assurance Team will review such complaints on priority and take necessary action.
The company will also use the complaints to identify repeated food safety problems or patterns across orders. This information can help Swiggy work with restaurant partners to address issues and improve preventive food safety practices.
Sidharth Bhakoo, Chief Business Officer, Swiggy Food Marketplace, said customer feedback plays an important role in the company’s food safety efforts. The new channels, he said, will help Swiggy identify possible gaps and respond more effectively.
The initiative comes as food safety receives greater attention across India, with authorities increasing inspections and enforcement in the food service sector.
For Swiggy, the new system is therefore not just a complaint mechanism. Customer reports can also serve as an early warning system, helping the platform spot potential food safety problems across its restaurant network.
