LOTTE has inaugurated one of its largest ice cream manufacturing facilities in Pune, Maharashtra, reinforcing its commitment to the Indian market and global expansion strategy. The 60,000 sqm facility is a key milestone in the company’s long-term vision for sustainable growth and innovation.

The inauguration event saw the presence of Maharashtra’s Chief Minister, Shri Devendra Fadnavis, alongside key dignitaries, including Dong Bin Shin, Chairman of Lotte Group, and other government and community representatives.

The new plant boasts an annual production capacity of 50 million liters, addressing India’s growing demand for ice cream, particularly in peak summer months. Currently operating with nine production lines, the facility has provisions to expand to 16 in the future. Equipped with high-speed machinery and automated robotic systems for secondary packaging, the plant ensures enhanced efficiency and superior product quality.

With an investment of Rs 500 crore, the facility is projected to generate over 1,000 jobs in the next two years, significantly boosting the local economy.

LOTTE Group Chairman Dong Bin Shin highlighted that the Pune facility marks a major milestone in the company’s journey, emphasizing India’s strategic importance in its global operations. He further stated that the facility would play a pivotal role in strengthening Havmor’s position as India’s most beloved ice cream brand.

Paul Chang Yi, CEO of LOTTE Wellfood Co Ltd, noted that this expansion aligns with the company’s vision to establish Havmor as a trusted and widely recognized brand across India.

Komal Anand, Managing Director of Havmor Ice Cream, India, pointed out that India’s per capita ice cream consumption remains lower than other Asian countries, presenting significant growth potential.
