The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Australia’s Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF) to strengthen collaboration on food safety.
The MoU was formalized by Rajit Punhani, CEO of FSSAI, and Tom Black, First Assistant Secretary, DAFF, marking a key milestone in the India–Australia partnership.
Under the agreement, both sides will enhance cooperation through the exchange of best practices, knowledge sharing, alignment on import procedures, and technical collaboration, including capacity-building initiatives.
Officials from both countries expressed confidence that the partnership will not only strengthen institutional ties but also advance food safety standards across India and Australia.
