Chheda Specialities Foods has secured the restoration of its food licence for its Palghar manufacturing facility from the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), less than 48 hours after the regulator’s inspection.
The company said it addressed the observations raised during the inspection and completed the required corrective measures within the stipulated period. With the licence restored, the Palghar facility is set to resume operations.
Chheda said the temporary suspension had no impact on its other manufacturing operations, with its remaining facilities continuing to operate as usual.
The company runs five manufacturing units and employs more than 1,200 people. Its products are exported to over 50 countries and are sold across India through quick-commerce platforms, modern retail and a network of around 1.2 lakh retail outlets across Western India.
The swift restoration comes amid increased regulatory scrutiny of food manufacturers and retailers, with food-safety authorities stepping up inspections and enforcement actions across the sector.
For Chheda, the reinstatement allows the Palghar facility to return to production while underscoring the company’s efforts to address regulatory observations and maintain compliance with food-safety requirements.
