Marico Expands Reach of FSSAI’s ‘Eat Right India’ Programme, Impacts Over 42 Lakh People in FY26

Marico Limited has further strengthened its partnership with the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) under the flagship ‘Eat Right India’ programme, reaching more than 42 lakh individuals during FY26 through a series of food safety, hygiene, and nutrition-focused initiatives across the country.

The company implemented 119 targeted interventions across eight states and Union Territories, including Punjab, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Assam, and Delhi. The initiatives were aimed at promoting safe food practices, improving nutrition awareness, and fostering behavioral change in communities.

Built around the theme ‘Sahi Bhojan. Behtar Jeevan’ (Right Food. Better Life), the programme seeks to translate FSSAI’s vision of healthier food habits into tangible action by strengthening food safety ecosystems in public and community spaces.

As part of its ecosystem-driven approach, Marico collaborated with FSSAI, state Food and Drug Administrations (FDAs), and empaneled training and auditing agencies to support the certification of 46 railway stations, 24 campuses, 12 clean street food hubs, 10 places of worship, and seven schools under various Eat Right initiatives.

The programme also conducted 20 capacity-building sessions targeting students, women, self-help groups, and local communities. These interventions were supported by structured training programmes, audits, and certification processes aligned with FSSAI standards to ensure sustained improvements in food hygiene and safety practices.

Commenting on the initiative, Amit Bhasin, Chief Legal Officer, Group Counsel and Secretary of the CSR Committee at Marico Limited, said, “At Marico, we are proud to play an active role as an implementation partner in advancing FSSAI’s ‘Eat Right India’ movement. We believe that improving access to safe, nutritious, and responsibly produced food is fundamental to building healthier communities. Through this programme, we are working across institutions and public ecosystems across India to strengthen food hygiene standards, enhance nutrition awareness, and enable persistent behavioural change at scale.”

The initiative underscores Marico’s continued commitment to supporting national food safety and nutrition goals while helping build healthier communities through awareness, training, and institutional capacity building.
