UFlex Launches Commercial Production Facilities in India and Russia

UFlex, India’s premier multinational flexible packaging and solutions company, has announced the initiation of commercial production at its facilities in Panipat, India, and Russia. This move is seen as a significant strategy to expand.

Commencing operations on March 31, 2024, UFlex has successfully initiated the commercialization of poly-condensed polyester chips at its manufacturing unit in Panipat, India. This marks a crucial step in the company’s global journey towards growth and development. Additionally, UFlex has unveiled the commissioning of a state-of-the-art 6.5-meter-wide Cast Polypropylene (CPP) Film Line in Russia, operated by its subsidiary Flex Films Rus LLC, further solidifying its presence in the region.

The polyester chip manufacturing plant in Panipat boasts an impressive installed capacity of 168,000 metric tons per annum (MTPA), reinforcing UFlex’s commitment to expanding its vertical integration footprint. These chips serve as a vital raw material for the production of BOPET packaging films. Besides catering to its in-house production needs, the Panipat facility will also cater to third-party clients, bolstering the growth and sustainability of India’s packaging film industry. This facility complements UFlex’s existing packaging film footprint in Noida and Dharwad, enhancing its capability to serve customers across the nation.

Meanwhile, the CPP packaging film line in Russia adds to UFlex’s existing capacities, which include one 8.7-meter-wide Biaxially Oriented Polyethylene Terephthalate (BOPET) Film Line and one 2.85-meter-wide plasma-enhanced avant-garde metallizer.

Mr. Ashok Chaturvedi, Chairman and Managing Director of UFlex Limited, expressed his optimism, stating, “We are thrilled about the commissioning of our Polyester chip plant in Panipat and the CPP line in Russia. Our customers increasingly value reliability, speed, and quality in their supply chain, and this expansion enables us to meet those expectations. Through vertical integration, we aim to meet the rising demands of the packaging industry, delivering quality, innovation, and customized solutions that our clients expect. By leveraging advanced technology and sustainable practices, we remain dedicated to providing superior products and solutions that address the evolving needs of the packaging market.”
