PepsiCo Opens Rs 1,266-Crore Manufacturing Plant in Ujjain

PepsiCo India has inaugurated a Rs 1,266-crore manufacturing facility in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, marking one of the company’s largest investments in the country and strengthening its long-term expansion strategy in India.

Spread across 22 acres, the new facility is PepsiCo’s second flavour manufacturing plant in India and will produce beverage concentrates for the company’s beverage portfolio. The company said the investment is expected to drive industrial development, create employment opportunities, and support ancillary businesses across central India.

The Ujjain plant forms part of PepsiCo’s broader investment commitment of Rs 5,700 crore in India through 2030.

PepsiCo CEO International Beverages Eugene Willemsen said India continues to be a key strategic growth market for the company globally. He noted that the Ujjain facility, which is PepsiCo’s ninth flavour plant worldwide and second in India, reinforces the company’s long-term commitment to the country.

He added that the plant integrates PepsiCo’s global manufacturing, technology, and sustainability capabilities while enhancing its ability to cater to growing consumer demand.

PepsiCo India & South Asia CEO Jagrut Kotecha said the commissioning of the facility reflects the company’s strengthening “Partnership of Progress” with India.

PepsiCo also highlighted its expanding presence in Madhya Pradesh through collaborative farming initiatives, where it currently works with more than 2,000 farmers in the state for sustainable sourcing of chip-grade potatoes.
