Launching of capacity-building initiatives in nine industrial clusters across six Maharashtra districts

A sum of Rs. 36 lakh has been disbursed for the first phase of the capacity building programme.

In Nagpur, Nashik, Nanded, Palghar, Jalna, and Kolhapur districts, nine industrial clusters have capacity building initiatives underway by the state government. The government of Maharashtra’s industries, energy, and labour department has started this phase of the capacity building initiative as part of the Maharashtra State Industrial Cluster Development Program (MSICDP).

The MSICDP was introduced by the Indian government in 2014 to help small and medium-sized businesses in the state build their cluster development and capacity through the incorporation of self-help groups.

The industrial clusters chosen for this stage of capacity building include the bakery cluster in Jalna, the artefact cluster in Nagpur, the multi-fruit processing cluster in Nanded, the fish processing cluster in Palghar, the bakery cluster in Jalna, and the manufacturing cluster in Kolhapur. The Maharashtra government will be intervening in these clusters in the associated districts for the first time at this time.
